Channel Meets At The Falls to Discuss The Latest Business Opportunities

Despite the hotel's annoying elevator problem that was caused by a water overflow from one of the rooms, ChannelNext Central 2008 wrapped up another great event to connect vendors with VARS. Niagara Falls is always a great place to do business and enjoy the beautiful environment.

Rob Dutt, Editor of CRN Canada kicked off the conference with a panel discussion on VAR-to-VAR partnerships. Cisco, Ingram Micro, A top VAR as well as an expert on the subject, outline how VARs are growing their business in collaboration with other VARS. Leveraging the unique skills of other VARS are helping some VARS expand into areas that they could not easily manage on their own. Watch for full story in upcoming CRN issue.

Panda Security expanded on the problem that the majority of corporate computers are still infected with Malware and how VARS can generate revenues servicing this need. RedHat also presented several opportunities on how VARS can leverage Linux's successful strong points to generate solid recurring revenues in SMB and Government.

Jim Estill presented the 10 secrets of success. You can see some video exerts from his presentation on ecnTV. Brother focused on helping VARS sell to 20 to 50 seats SMB with a road map as to how to compete successfully in this highly competitive space.

Rick McCutcheon wrapped up the conference with a seminar on customer relationship management. The focus was on the process of how to implement a solution and use it effectively.

Over 20 vendors participated in the Speed Introductions and set the stage for our welcome dinner at the popular Planet Hollywood venue, reserved exclusively for ChannelNext delegates. There were three hospitality suites overlooking the Falls and ITXchange won over the crowd with the big screen TV of the Hockey game and an open bar! Everyone enjoyed the spectacular fireworks over the Falls as we ended the day.

The last day of the event featured exclusive vendor meetings, workshops by Keseya on the huge trend of delivering proactive IT services and The Secrets Of Success by George Torok - a best-of list from his interviews with over 400 business leaders. The event ended in the expo as vendors and VARs continued to explore partnerships and handed out some cool prizes. See you in Banff this October and the newest Apple Reseller Summit in August.
